The Powertrain Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for integrating the electric powertrain system within the vehicle platform. You will work cross-functionally to support system bring-up activities at vehicle prototype builds, vehicle propulsion software validation, field issue identification, and ensuring that the propulsion system meets performance, regulatory, safety, and drivability requirements.

Support the integration efforts for various powertrain components such as the inverter, oil pumps, etc.

Test and calibrate powertrain related features and work with the hardware, software, architecture, safety and other cross-functional teams to deliver said features.

Coordinate with hardware teams to develop electrical device transmittals for various powertrain components and own the document until production.

Lead the powertrain bring up activities on all the vehicle builds and become the point person for the program.

Support the development of test-cases and verification of system level functions on multiple mediums (benches, labcars and vehicles).

Support the cross-functional development efforts, identify and manage issues identified during development testing.

Report feature development progress and maturity at various program milestones.

Participate in architectural and software technical discussions and develop technical solutions while representing the powertrain.

Engineering degree in an equivalent field, or equivalent experience.

0-5+ years of experience in systems design, systems architecture, powertrain systems integration.

Strong electrical and systems engineering fundamentals.

Working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, powertrain technologies, software/hardware tool development, motor calibration technologies.

A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

:

M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechanical engineering.

3+ years of experience in electric powertrain system development and understanding of the intricacies of the system design.

3+ years of experience in integrating and calibrating powertrain control systems (e.g., e-motors, transmissions, engines, drivelines, etc.).

Experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet.

Proficiency in using calibration tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, CANalyzer).

Proficiency in fundamentals of vehicle architecture, embedded systems design, RTOSes and real-time networking.

Experience in designing and launching new embedded products (concept to production).

Vehicle track and performance testing experience.

Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics.
