Job Summary: The Full-Time ESL Teacher will be responsible for providing targeted English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to small groups of K-8 students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching ESL and hold a valid New Jersey state licensure in ESL. Key Responsibilities: Instruction: Teach ESL to small groups of 2-5 students, tailoring instruction to meet individual language acquisition needs and learning styles. Lesson Planning: Develop and implement effective lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to the diverse needs of students in various grade levels. Assessment: Assess student progress through various methods, including assessments, observations, and feedback. Adjust instruction based on student needs and progress. Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, school staff, and parents to support students language development and integrate ESL goals into their overall educational experience. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, lesson plans, and other relevant documentation. Prepare reports as needed for parent-teacher conferences and school evaluations. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in ESL education and instructional strategies. Requirements: Licensure: Must hold a valid New Jersey state licensure in ESL. Education: Bachelors degree in Education, English as a Second Language, or a related field. Masters degree or additional ESL training preferred. Experience: Previous experience teaching ESL, particularly in a K-8 setting. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans and manage small group instruction.
