We are seeking an experienced
Senior Network Engineer
to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure that supports critical business operations. If you're passionate about network administration, troubleshooting, and optimizing network systems for performance and security, this is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful projects and mentor junior engineers.
What You'll Do:
•Configure and manage
network devices
including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
•Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement
optimization strategies
to enhance throughput and reliability.
•Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using
firewall logs , switch packet capture tools, and
Wireshark , collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary.
•Conduct
network capacity planning
and bandwidth management to support future growth and evolving business needs.
•Integrate network infrastructure with
cloud services , storage systems, and other IT components.
•Stay up to date on emerging networking technologies and recommend best practices for adoption.
•Create and maintain documentation, including network
configurations, diagrams , standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
•Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
•Manage, monitor, and secure networks, including
tenant network segments , ensuring efficient data transport and communication.
•Organize, document, and manage the delivery of
load balancing services
and maintain accurate
IP address documentation .

• Active Secret Clearance
(required due to contract).

• 7+ years of experience
as a Senior Network Engineer or similar role, with expertise in:
• Cisco ASA, Cisco FirePOWER, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus
• Avaya PoE Switches ,
F5 LTM/GTM ,
KEMP Load Balancers ,
Juniper SRX Firewall
• Extreme Network IPS ,
Avaya Media Gateway G450 ,
IBM DataPower XML Firewall
•Tools like
SolarWinds
(NPM, SAM, IPAM, Netflow),
IBM Netcool , and others.
•Strong understanding of
network load balancing , capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Location:
•Must reside near
Annapolis Junction, MD , and be available for onsite work at the customer's discretion, including during transition periods.
