Position Description:JTEC Consulting is seeking an experienced Data Scientists to join our SAF/FM CIO Data team working in support of a government client. As a Data Scientist you will play a crucial role supporting database architecture and designing, developing, and maintaining our SAF/FM data infrastructure and systems. Qualified candidates will have expertise in ETL, Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, Jupyter Notebooks and related technologies.

Duties and responsibilities include:Work as part of a collaborative team to design, develop, and implement end-to-end data solutions using ETL processes and technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter NotebooksSupport database architecture and design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networksSet statndards for database operations, programming, query processes, and securityProvide support to model, design, and construct large relational databases and/or data warehousesCreate and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflowIntegrate new systems with existing warehouse structureRefine system performance and functionalityLeverage big data technologies to efficiently process and analyze large datasets, particularly those encountered in a federal agencyTroubleshoot data-related problems and provide innovative solutions to address complex data challengesImplement and enforce data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practicesWork closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal data models and architecturesMaintain documentation for data architecture, workflows, processes, and other work productsStay updated with emerging trends and advancements in data engineering and recommend suitable tools and technologies for continuous improvementSupport hybrid schedule 1-2 days per week on-siteEducation and qualifications:

U.S. citizenshipCurrent security clearance required for consideration (Secret at a minimum)5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist supporting DoD technical architectureDemonstrated hands-on experience with technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter NotebooksDemonstrated experience working with large datasets and leveraging big data technologies to process and analyze data efficientlyUnderstanding of data modeling/visualization, database design principles, and data governance practicesEffective written and verbal communication skills to excel in a blended government and contractor team environmentAbility to work on-site (1-2 days per week)Preferred Experience:

Recent DoD or IC-related experiencePrevious experience with Advana is a plusKnowledge of SAF/FM systems is a significant plusAir Force legacy systems such as the Automated Business Services System (ABSS), Air Force Equipment Management System (AFEMS), Automated Funds Management (AFM), Civilian Pay Accounting Interface System (CPAIS), Central Procurement Accounting System (CPAS), Commanders' Resource Integration System (CRIS), Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS), General Accounting and Finance System Base Level (GAFS-BL), General Accounting and Finance System Re-Engineered (GAFS-R), Integrated Accounts Payable System (IAPS), Job Order Cost Accounting System II (JOCAS II), Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), Standard Materiel Accounting System (SMAS), and Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
