POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for completing a variety of capital facilities construction projects both interior and exterior building rehabilitation at the three General Aviation airports. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in construction, with preferred experience in skilled trades across various disciplines such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and facilities. Additionally, the candidate should have experience leading the daily activities of a workgroup.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Depending on the assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below.

Leads and participates in the erection of small structures and the more complex alteration, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and water systems and/or fixtures, brick, cement, HVAC, and carpentry work.

Works with leadership to maintain an adequate stock of building materials to permit the completion of the project.

Oversees maintenance project activities while working independently. Must be capable of making effective decisions as it relates to capital projects.

Drives a vehicle to and from work sites.

Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and four years of work experience in construction, maintenance, or the skilled trades.

Or

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

Possession of a valid Driver's License.

COMPENSATION

$26.01- $27.38 based on experience

Strong background in commercial and industrial construction related to remodeling, buildouts, and installations.

Considerable knowledge of procedures and techniques utilized in various construction trades.

Considerable knowledge of the construction and maintenance of various types of buildings and facilities.

Strong knowledge of safety procedures and safety equipment.

Skill in the use of hand and power tools and equipment used in building and construction.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Ability to prioritize work.

Ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others.

Ability to work effectively with others.

Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks.

Ability to install data cabling.

Ability to apply the National Electrical Code to assignments.

Ability to install conduit and wiring, meeting professional standards.

Ability to work effectively with others.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
