Summary You will serve as a REACTOR SERVICING PROGRAM MANAGER in the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER (CODE 300N) SUBDIVISION, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR AND MAY BECOME PERMANENT WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION

Responsibilities You will direct, through subordinates, all activities of Reactor Servicing from a programmatic perspective, ensuring that Reactor Servicing complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will be responsible for refueling projects that are extremely complex, encompassing multiple interrelated major systems. You will represent the shipyard on matters involving refueling/defueling projects with representatives of Naval Sea Systems Command and other government agencies. You will keep self and staff abreast of technological developments in the refueling program. You will communicate work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjusts their priorities, and concur to schedules developed by assigned subordinates. You will perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with concepts, principles and practices of nuclear and refueling planning and production. Experience with naval ship overhaul processes including production, project management, planning, engineering, and scheduling. Experience working shipyard refueling and defueling projects with representatives of Naval Commands and other government agencies. Experience with the organization, policies, procedures, interfaces, communications, and operations of a Naval Shipyard. Experience managing large-scale projects through development, planning, and implementation phases.
