Overview
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board needs to be obtained within 2 years, orPharmacy Technician Certified (ExCPT) issued by the National Healthcareer Association needs to be obtained within 2 years.If working in WI: Registered as a Pharmacy Technician through Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, application must be submitted prior to start date.If working in IL: Registered as a Pharmacy Technician through Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, application must be submitted prior to start date with license obtained within 60 days of date of submission.
Education Required:High School Graduate.
Experience Required:Typically requires 5 years of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy technician role, depending on specialty area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Good mathematics skills.Attention to details.Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Exceptional customer service, problem resolution and process development skills.Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the work day.Ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to chest level; lift and carry up to 35 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance; push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
