Position Specific Description
Work with internal NextEra teams to manage and maintainthe interconnection related engineering itemsqueue positions. This position will be expected to understand interconnection process from application through Commercial Operation and become a Subject Matter Expert for their assigned ISO(s).
Work with NextEra corporate office, engineering, construction and Construction commissioning Site Tteams to coordinate submittals and interconnection deliverables with the Transmission Owners (TO) and Operators (ISO) and Power Purchasing Agreement Clients. This position will be responsible for reviewing the Purchase Power Agreements and Interconnection Agreements ,and provide critical engineering feedback to teams negotiating these agreements. The responsibilities will include make a comprehensive list oftracking deliverables and milestones and track due dates and submittals per the requirements of the project agreements and . Iinterfaceing with the TO, ISO and PPA clients to ensure all items associated with design, performance, with telemetry, back-feed, initial synchronization, and Commercial Operation Date are accomplished.
Review all draft Purchase Power Agreement and Interconnect Agreements for their assigned region.
Assess the impact of requirements on the project design and schedule and communicate to internal stakeholders.
Develop list of deliverables and coordinate submittal of deliverables for PPAs and IAs
Interface with Transmission Owners and Operators (TO) and Power Purchasing Agreement Clients to align all deliverables to physically connect, sync and achieve COD.
Monitor changes in interconnection processes for their assigned ISO(s)
DevelopTrack list of deliverables and milestones coordinate submittal of deliverables for PPAs and IAs
Communicate with internal stakeholders on any changes in ISO requirements for interconnecting plants.
Work with engineering parties to ensure technical items of PPA and IA are met in plant design.
Support the joint testing with parties a point of contact to the (TO, ISO and PPA Clients)
Weekly status reporting of Interconnection submittal status and critical path to meet PPA and IA dates.
Monthly monitoring and reporting of interconnection queue position milestones.
Familiarity with CAISO interconnection process preferred.
Knowledge of ISO tariffs and pro forma and non pro forma contracts
Familiarity with NERC and FERC technical standards related to transmission and generation interconnection.
Contract interpretation and management of deliverables
Purchase Power Agreement (PPA) and Interconnect Agreements (IA)
Experience with technical review drafting, negotiating and implementation of contracts related to electric power grid industry.
Organizational skills to manage critical deliverables to external Transmission entities.
Exceptional personal skills to establish professional working relationships with offtaker entities.
Understanding of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems will be preferred.
Understanding of integrating communication protocols between multiple parties
Understanding of electrical metering devices and concepts will be preferred
