The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the corporate general ledger including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and participating in the month-end processes. The role will coordinate with the internal auditors, control owners, and the SOX department to ensure compliance with the PCC SOX Program and associated policies. This role is highly collaborative and visible with multiple stakeholders of the company.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for the corporate general ledger including preparing journal entries, participating in the month-end processes, preparing reconciliations, and developing and improving analysesLiaison with operational contacts, supporting business needs as an accounting partner while ensuring policy and procedure complianceSupport the corporate capital appropriations request process including submitting requests, tracking, reconciliation, and compliance with corporate policyAssist with AP processes and controlsCoordinate with both external and internal auditors to complete financial audits and SOX testingSupport balance sheet and income statement budgets / forecasts including preparing periodic reports for management reviewAssist with quarterly preparation of schedules for review by management, and other analysisCross-train with other members of Corporate AccountingIdentify process opportunity areas and develop and implement procedures to improve organizational efficiencyPerform special projects, other duties as assignedExperience and Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferredMinimum 2 years of accounting / finance experienceExperience in public accounting or accounting role within a public company preferredSkills:Knowledge and understanding of accounting and application of financial principles (GAAP)Strong attention to detail; accuracy of work is criticalStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent time management and multi-tasking skills including ability to meet communicated deadlines and act as primary owner of individual projects, analyses and processesSelf-motivated and action oriented with the ability to work productively and independentlyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and functions)Ability to work in partnership with all levels of employees up to and including senior management, and various PCC locationsMust be able to process sensitive information in the strictest confidenceDemonstrate ability to improve and streamline business processes
