Programs for Parents is a non-profit organization that works to ensure children get the best possible start in life. We do this by supporting children, families, and childcare providers in Essex County through advocacy and action, providing education and referrals, sharing best practices, and helping families access available financial resources.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Child Care Resource and Referral Department provides families with access to a broad selection of childcare referrals and community resources; conducts parent engagement events, community events, and parent workshops; and provides customer service to families and childcare providers seeking information regarding program eligibility and subsidy payments. As the Resource & Referral Manager, you will support the mission and objectives of the agency by providing daily supervision of the operational units and staff within the Resource & Referral Department. Specific duties may include:Organizing and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure completion within specified timelines and in accordance with DFD policies and departmental procedures.Monitoring tasks to ensure completion with an established level of accuracy.Enforcing company policies and procedures; handle performance issues promptly.Informing staff of program policies, procedures, and system changes.Conducting/attending
meetings and trainings.Assisting with staff development and training.Creating and promoting an inclusive, diverse, and positive work environment.Motivating staff and encouraging teamwork.Participating in the hiring process.Ensuring appropriate staff coverage at all times.Maintaining, securing, and safeguarding confidential informationOther duties as assigned to support the needs of the agency.Knowledge and Skills:Strong leadership skillsKnowledge of program eligibility for all subsidy programsKnowledge of internal and external databases and systemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with diverse populationsStrong analytical skillsDemonstrated willingness to take initiativeStrong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to provide clear direction and communicate performance expectationsAbility to problem solve and offer creative solutions to improve productivityAbility to delegate responsibility as appropriateWillingness to work additional hours as neededStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to perform intermediate-level mathAbility to enter data with a high degree of speed and accuracyAbility to meet productivity standards within established timelinesKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeEducation and Experience:High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferredExperience leading individuals and/or teams preferredMinimum of 3 years of practical experience in relevant industryPhysical Tasks:Ability to walk and climb stairsAbility to carry/lift up to 10 pounds
