The Credit Analyst II is primarily responsible for partnering with Portfolio Managers, supporting the daily duties of underwriting and monitoring credit while performing analytical activities and identifying risks or issues as needed. A successful Credit Analyst II will be able to draft documents and prepare for credit reviews with limited support from the Portfolio Managers. The role requires knowledge of financial and risk analysis and proficiency in financial modeling. The Credit Analyst II should develop proficiency in underwriting, aiming to complete the process from start to finish with limited oversight. Additionally, attending and supporting Portfolio Reviews as needed is expected. Responsible for risk management by exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and adhering to policies and procedures. Always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results within the Bank's risk appetite by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Partner with Portfolio Managers in credit and underwriting, performing analytical tasks as needed Use critical thinking to identify and draft documentation Complete indicative credit information into Banking Systems accurately and regularly Prepare risk-rating scorecard and tickler event analysis, collaborating with PMs to determine actions Develop risk models and advise PMs on obstacles that may impede client expectations Identify and determine necessary monitoring activities Verify covenants, define updates on ticklers, and monitor covenant compliance Assess covenant compliance reports and recommend actions Review covenant certificates to understand performance and determine actions Update financial covenants and calculations as needed Run Probability of Default (PD) model with oversight Evaluate completed spreads and collaborate with the CCU team on necessary edits Identify and recommend portfolio management actions using Credit Service reporting and RADAR Prepare ALSR reports and run risk and projection models with oversight Complete underwriting processes with limited oversight, creating accurate CAMs Review and rewrite renewals for deals of limited complexity Support portfolio analysis and preparation for Portfolio Reviews and client meetings Assist with training new employees and work on special projects as assigned
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting 2+ years of Commercial Banking/Commercial Credit experience Strong financial and risk analysis skills, including financial modeling Knowledge of banking products, services, and legal documents Understanding of U.S. government regulations Proficiency in banking applications and Microsoft Office Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
