(RN) Infection Control Manager

Position Overview Plans, coordinates, and directs the hospital-wide infection control program to minimize the risk of exposure to infectious and/or communicable diseases for patients, employees, staff, and visitors. Ensures compliance with hospital plans, state and federal regulations, and TJC standards. Develops and evaluates the program, implementing improvements as needed. Manages daily departmental operations, staffing, training, supervision, and budget.
Responsibilities
Develop department goals, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Manage the department budget and resources.
Analyze and report data related to infection control.
Design and maintain hospital-wide infection prevention and control systems.
Set goals with committees and monitor infection standards.
Develop policies, provide education, and ensure staff adherence to infection control practices.
Collaborate with departments to meet infection control standards.
Lead during infection outbreaks to contain spread and maintain confidence.
Report communicable diseases to public health authorities.
Participate in meetings, committees, and community outreach.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Understanding of infection control standards, microbiology, epidemiology, and patient care practices.
Experience in infection control/hospital epidemiology.
RN license in Maryland (or applicable state).
Certification in Infection Control (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
Data analysis and reporting skills.
Proficiency with computer applications.
Problem-solving and independent judgment.
Leadership and communication skills.
This position offers a salary range of $100,588 - $190,340.
