Kroger's Offers/Loyalty engineering team is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead a team building software at scale, ideally with ecommerce and loyalty experience. The role involves working on Kroger's Offers engineering team, responsible for the loyalty program that manages coupons from setup to redemption and billing. The engineer will lead or support activities that guide the development and delivery of software solutions meeting business needs, providing leadership, analysis, and design to deliver critical business solutions. They will develop target-state guidance, including standards, design patterns, and configurations, to evolve the development process, demonstrating core values such as respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM major. 5+ years of experience leading the development of complex software and automation systems. Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, high-quality systems. Hands-on experience in software or infrastructure development, including design patterns and code structure. Strong industry knowledge and familiarity with technical disciplines such as cloud, APIs, infrastructure, and databases. Understanding of network and security architecture. Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute strategically. *Technical skills: Java, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Azure.* Desired qualifications: Ability to build, mentor, and maintain an inclusive team environment. Experience with elastic architectures, particularly in Azure and Google Cloud. Leadership in technology strategy and enterprise standards implementation. Driving digital innovation and technology transformation. Cost/benefit analysis and architectural decision-making skills. Ability to analyze and improve the technology environment. Mentoring team members in development principles and practices. Drafting and reviewing architectural and design documents. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
