The Facilities Housing Coordinator will help achieve department goals and coordinate the day to day operations related to custodial services, maintenance, and repairs. This position will also help implement capital improvements and preventive maintenance plans. The Facilities Housing Coordinator will be directly involved with customer follow-up and quality assurance.Primary ResponsibilitiesHelp to coordinate maintenance/repair, work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial work.Help to coordinate the work order ticketing system to ensure that work orders are being completed in priority order and to our community members' satisfaction.Acknowledge and report building deficiencies to management, found during preventative maintenance inspections, requiring maintenance or repair.Correct minor building deficiencies found during inspections, as possible.Follow-up on pending or completed work orders, to assure that the student, staff or faculty member is aware of job status and satisfied with the service.Remain in contact with the student, staff or faculty member regarding inquires and complaints, and follow-up to ensure complete satisfaction.Perform a variety of facility coordination duties such as building tours, maintaining inventories, overseeing health and safety inspections, fire drills, and other.Ensure office spaces are ready, clean, and prepared when new employees start (or an existing employee changes office) by completing a check list to ensure the new space is ready for the staff member.Assist the Facilities Manager with the scheduling and completion of routine preventative maintenance tasks, specifically completed by Facilities Technicians and Porters.Resolve reported issues with washers, dryers, card dispensers, change machines, etc., by contacting the correct laundry service company, and scheduling service/repair.Develop and maintain inventories, such as office furniture, maintenance tools/equipment, maintenance supplies, emergency supplies, etc.Work with part-time staff to ensure that classrooms are being maintained and reset in conjunction with the daily classroom schedule.Update and add material safety data sheets to the MSDS e-folder and physical binders.Assist in coordinating and executing event set-up and breakdown for college events and activities.Check in with Facilities Technicians to make sure they have, and are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.Participate as a Safety Committee member and Emergency Response Team member.Provide hands-on assistance if needed by other facilities/maintenance staff.Perform other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent.Minimum 2 years general facility maintenance experience preferred.General knowledge in heating ventilation & air-conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skilled trades preferred.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Ability to operate Microsoft Office computer systems.Familiarity with CMMS systems.Must have a valid CA driver's license.Good written and oral communication skills.
