Barrington Orthopedic Specialists Rehabilitation Department
offers comprehensive outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services, occupational therapy/hand therapy services, and several specialized wellness programs at all 4 of our facilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
:Barrington Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a part-time Licensed Occupational Therapist (Hand Specialist). You will work closely with a team of skilled clinicians and orthopedic surgeons across numerous orthopedic sub-specialties. Seeking highly motivated, driven individuals with passion for the profession.
Occupational/Hand Therapy
consists of post-injury or post-surgical management of elbow, wrist, and hand orthopedic musculoskeletal conditions carried out by a team of occupational therapists and certified hand therapists.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
:The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats functional impairment through the application of physical medicine and rehabilitation modalities, provides individualized goal directed treatment to promote movement, reduces pain, restores function, and prevents disability. The Occupational Therapist promotes independent maintenance of functional improvement through home exercise instruction and patient/family education. The Occupational Therapist provides protective or dynamic splinting to patients to enhance performance per physician orders. The Occupational Therapist appropriately delegates treatment tasks to clinical support staff. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for maintaining a thorough and accurate documentary record of any care provided in a manner consistent with the department's stated best practices for documentation. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing accurate billing and coding for any care provided in a manner consistent with the department's stated best practices for billing and coding.Requirements:

:Two to four years of hand experience.
EDUCATION
:Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy programMust possess license as an occupational therapist where required by state law. Current certification in CPR.
