INVENTORY CONTROLLERINVENTORY CONTROLLERJob Brief: Description: Duties: Responsibility, Inventory, Supplies, Equipment needs. Meet Vendor/Contractors, investigate/determine sources, types of material/supplies and methods preparing specifications for ordering products. Evaluate, bids/request requisitions, recommendations to Purchasing Div. Monitor/Evaluate product usage, future needs, maintain necessary supply levels, review received inventory, accountability is a priority. Document Receiving/Purchase orders in computer, to include manual backup (all Inventory). Verse in Record Keeping, Reports, Equipment i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks, front end loaders, other related equipment. Assist Internal Auditors annual city audit.Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12) grade supplemented by specialized training in purchasing, inventory control or a related field. Three years of responsible purchasing inventory control experience. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. .PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE."EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER"JOB DESCRIPTIONAssume responsibility for the inventory of supplies and equipment for an assigned department or division including researching, evaluating and preparing requisitions for all supplies. Monitor and evaluate product usage; project future needs; maintain necessary supply levels. Maintain accurate and updated records on inventory; prepare various records and reports. Operate various equipment used to load and unload materials and supplies front end loaders and other related equipment. Provide information and assistance to internal auditors for the annual city audit. The Inventory Controller shall be responsible for developing and maintaining a master file of all evidence, transaction sheets, and log sheets. This file may be manual or automated with the capability to be cross indexed with the evidence chain of custody file. The inventory controller shall assign a storage location to each item of evidence, record this information on the log sheet, and input the storage location information into the computer system. Evidence requiring added security, to include money, precious metals, jewelry, gemstones, weapons, narcotics, and dangerous drugs, shall be stored in a separate secured area. Perishable items shall be stored in a refrigerator or other suitable container. Access to the Evidence and Recovered Property Unit is authorized by the Chief of Police. The Inventory Controller is responsible for keeping a log shall be kept onsite in the Evidence and Recovered Property Unit.Three years of responsibility purchasing or inventory control experiences.
