This role is pivotal for the Next Generation Threat System team in developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment. This system, integrated into flight simulators, supports Navy and Air Force pilot training against potential threats. The Software Developer role is hybrid (requiring 2-3 days per week onsite) in Lexington Park, Maryland . This individual will collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance the development and network programming to integrate software systems.

Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in network software development . This role is pivotal for the Next Generation Threat System team in developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment. The Software Developer role is hybrid (requiring 2-3 days per week onsite) in Lexington Park, Maryland . This individual will collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance the development and network programming to integrate software systems.
Roles & Responsibilities for the Software Developer:
- Develop software for a synthetic training environment integrated into flight simulators.
- Analyze TechELINT waveforms and enhance ELINT data simulations.
- Model and simulate threat systems and sensors for defense applications.
- Contribute to software testing and requirement gathering from customers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in C++, Python 3, and web development.
- Collaborate on software enhancements with a focus on time-series analysis.
- Analyze and model threat systems, sensors, radars, EW systems, countermeasures, EO/IR systems, and various weapons.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience as a Software Developer.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience with at least 10 years of C++ experience.
- Proficiency in network programming, including sockets (unicast, multicast, TCP), byte-swapping, data serialization, and time-series analysis.
- Understanding of network protocols such as Data Distribution Service (DDS), High-Level Architecture (HLA), and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).
- Experience with scripting, database, and programming in Python 3 and HTML.
- Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- $140,000-150,000 depending on experience
