Position Summary
The Vice President Philanthropy, Planned and Major Gifts (VP/PPMG) is a key member of the executive leadership team. The VP/PPMG is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising and philanthropic strategy to support Mozaic Senior Life, its mission and long-term goals. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to grow philanthropic support through major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, capital campaigns, donor relations, and foundation/corporate giving. The VP/PPMG serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on all matters related to fundraising and external engagement. The Vice President will cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with donors who are passionate about quality care and dignity for older adults.
This is a unique opportunity to lead fundraising efforts that directly impacts the health, wellness and dignity of seniors and their families.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and lead a comprehensive development strategy aligned with organizational priorities and growth plans.
·Design and re-establish a Planned Giving Program
·Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, endowment, and planned giving prospects.
·Collaborate with the Director of Development in the continued execution of annual appeals, capital campaigns, events, and grants.
·Partner with the President and CEO and Board to strengthen donor relationships and expand a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
·Provide strategic leadership for donor communications and stewardship efforts to ensure impactful engagement.
·Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.
·Represent the organization at community and donor events to enhance visibility and engagement.
Donor Engagement and Portfolio Management
·Design and lead an integrated major and planned giving strategy that aligns with organizational priorities such as the Vision 2031 + Fund for the Future, 10-year anniversary capital campaign, endowment growth and program priorities such as the Center for Elder Abuse Prevention, Home Care and Hospice and capital needs.
·Develop multi-year fundraising plans and performance metrics to achieve revenue goals, including estate and deferred giving.
·Develop tailored proposals and stewardship plans that reflect donors’ values and interests in aging and healthcare.
Planned Giving Leadership
·Develop a strong planned giving program, with a focus on bequests, charitable gift annuities, and beneficiary designations.
·Serve as a subject matter expert and internal resource on charitable estate planning and tax-efficient giving strategies.
·Create and manage a legacy society to honor and engage planned giving donors.
Team and Cross-Functional Collaboration
·Supervise and mentor Development Director fostering a results-oriented, collaborative team culture.
·Partner with colleagues in communications, events, and community engagement to integrate messaging and donor recognition.
·Collaborate with clinicians and program staff to translate the organization’s impact into compelling philanthropic opportunities with Clients, their families and current, former family members of long-term Residents
Leadership and Board Engagement
·Work closely with the President & CEO and Board members to involve them in donor strategy and solicitations.
·Expand/implement the Development Committee of the Board with realistic expectations and participation.
·Prepare regular reports and updates for the Board’s Development Committee.
·Help build a culture of philanthropy across the organization, especially among leadership and frontline staff.
Qualifications
·Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, preferably within healthcare, senior services, or nonprofit sectors with an emphasis on Planned Giving and Major Gifts
·Demonstrated ability to close Major Gifts and secure complex Planned Gifts. Proven track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns.
·Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
·Strategic thinker with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with executive leadership.
·Familiarity and understanding of Jewish Philanthropy community including relationship-building grounded in shared values and a genuine commitment to the mission. This is valuable in building trust and achieving long term success along with improving the lives of older adults and their families.
·Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/NXT, Excel/Word, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
- This position has a salary range of $175,000-$200,000
