FH Solutions Group is searching for a Vice President of Maintenance and Technical Services for our airline client. This role oversees all aspects of the airline’s aircraft maintenance, engineering, and technical operations. This individual ensures compliance with FAA Part 121 regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices while leading strategic initiatives to optimize safety, efficiency, cost control, and operational performance. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
*Location is not Washington, DC, but to remain confidential until selected for an interview* Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of maintenance operations, line maintenance, base maintenance, engineering, and technical training. Budget Management Oversees the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of reliability and safety. Operational Management Directs and coordinates the activities of maintenance personnel, including scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Compliance and Safety Ensures full compliance with FAA Part 121 regulations and adheres to all regulatory standards by manufacturer requirements, promoting a culture of safety and quality. Lead, motivate, and develop maintenance staff across multiple locations to ensure efficient and effective operations. Performance Monitoring and Improvement Analyze maintenance performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Lead the implementation of process improvements in maintenance tracking systems, documentation, and reporting. Work with other departments, such as flight operations, engineering, and procurement, to ensure seamless coordination of maintenance activities. Work with senior leadership to support the airline’s operational goals. Key Skills: Strong budgeting and strategic planning capabilities Excellent leadership and communication skills Exceptional problem-solving abilities Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed technical teams Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills In-depth knowledge of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Qualifications: BS/BA Degree in engineering, business, or related field, or at least 10 years of progressive management experience in a maintenance organization Hold a Mechanic's certification with Airframe and Powerplant ratings Have at least three years of maintenance experience with a commercial 121 or cargo air carrier This position requires both office-based and on-site presence at maintenance bases, hangars, and airport locations Travel about 30% Seniority level
