Thank you for your interest in our Y!General Function:Under the guidance of Youth Development leadership and reporting to the Center Associate Executive Director, the Director of Center Youth, Family & Camp oversees all aspects of designated youth center services, including homeschool programming, day camp, family activities, special events, and community-based programs. This role is pivotal in program implementation, participant and volunteer recruitment, financial management, and fostering a sense of community among members.Know How:Bachelor’s degree in child development, recreation, elementary education, or related field; or equivalent experience.3-5 years of professional experience in YMCA or similar organizations.Strong skills in event planning, program development, and delivery with a focus on youth and family activities.Experience in volunteer recruitment and engagement.Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and adapt to community trends.Organizational, project management, and event planning abilities.Supervisory and budget management experience.Excellent communication, public relations, and record-keeping skills.Act as a First Responder during emergencies.Manage Play and Learn program, including employee scheduling.Oversee operations and standardize day camp processes, collaborating with Center staff on sports and recreation programs.Develop, administer, and control budgets for designated programs.Recruit, train, and supervise paid and volunteer staff.Evaluate programs and recommend improvements aligned with Association Strategic Plan.Interpret Association goals, objectives, and policies to the community.Serve as manager on duty on designated weeknights and weekends.Maintain program records and prepare reports as required.Support international aspects of Association through education and fundraising.Supervise equipment and facilities upkeep, including off-site locations.Assist in annual campaign for Youth Development.Provide direct leadership in specific programs as assigned.Engage with community groups to address local needs and issues.Undertake additional projects or activities as directed by Association leadership.It is the policy of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis to provide equal employment opportunity to employees and candidates for employment.
