FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 12, 2025 Santa Paula Councilmember Jenny Crosswhite Appointed SCAG Second Vice President Santa Paula, CA – The City of Santa Paula proudly announces the appointment of Councilmember and former two-time Mayor Jenny Crosswhite as Second Vice President of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the largest metropolitan planning organization in the United States. Crosswhite’s appointment was formally confirmed at SCAG’s General Assembly on May 1, 2025. Councilmember Crosswhite has served on the Santa Paula City Council since 2014 and is currently in her third term. Her deep commitment to public service is evident through her extensive regional leadership, representing SCAG District 47, which includes the cities of Santa Paula, Ventura, Ojai, and Fillmore. As a member of SCAG, she has served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee, as well as service on the Executive Administration Committee, Legislative/Communications and Membership Committee, and the Greenprint Technical Advisory Committee. In addition to her SCAG role, Councilmember Crosswhite also serves on the Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo), a seven-member independent body that oversees city and special district boundaries and facilitates thoughtful growth across Ventura County. She served as Vice Chair in 2023 and Chair of the commission in 2024, where she helped guide key decisions related to regional planning and development, including the review of city annexations and service agreements. Throughout her public service career, Councilmember Crosswhite has demonstrated a strong commitment to regional collaboration. She has served on several regional boards, including the Ventura Council of Governments (2018–2022), Ventura County Transportation Commission (2018–2020, 2023-Present), Clean Power Alliance Board (2023-Present), Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance (2025), Ventura Regional Sanitation District (2020–2022), and Community Action of Ventura County (2015–2019). “I am honored to represent our community on both SCAG and Ventura LAFCo,” said Crosswhite. “I work hard to make sure these opportunities ensure that Santa Paula, and our region’s, local priorities are reflected in transportation, housing, air quality, and land use planning throughout Southern California.” Outside of public office, Crosswhite is the pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Santa Paula and holds degrees in Graphic Design, Spanish, and a Master of Divinity. She is known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to equity, sustainability, and community engagement.
