MLT West Coast & Technology Partnerships Team

MLT partners with companies to develop and recruit top Black, Latinx, and Native American talent with the potential to become senior leaders of impact and influence. MLT partners play a critical role by recruiting, developing, and accelerating MLT rising leaders. Companies’ willingness to partner and continue to renew their annual MLT partnership depends upon successful engagement and execution with MLT’s programs that help meet their objectives: hiring MLT alumni into key roles and progressing their company along their DEI journey.

Currently, 1,800 MLTers work at Tech companies, including partners such Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Intuit and Dell Technologies. Additionally, MLT has established partnerships with VC firms such as Greylock Partners, Greycroft Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Kapor Capital, and others. MLT also partners strategically with organizations whose values, missions and activities align with MLT, such as CodePath, SMASH, and others.

Senior Manager, Talent & Recruiting Analytics, Data, and Research

The Senior Manager, Talent & Recruiting Analytics, Data, and Research is responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of key talent and recruiting data, metrics, and statistics for the MLT West Coast and Technology partnerships team’s recruiting and talent programs. Additional responsibilities include data quality, database maintenance, measurement, and reporting. This role assists in the development and implementation of internal talent platforms and is responsible for supporting research efforts, data analysis, and visualization.

Serving as a subject matter expert for data needs for the team’s talent and human capital projects, this role requires a team approach, collaboration, and significant flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities. The role involves creative thinking of new approaches, processes, and activities to help achieve our mission and objectives.

This role is responsible for ensuring MLT’s talent priorities are adequately organized while also thinking critically about uncovering any trends or insights related to the work we are doing. A problem-solving orientation and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment are essential. 

This position reports to the Chief of Staff for MLT’s West Coast and Technology partnerships team.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and analyze data and metrics from a variety of sources and databases related to recruiting / talent / human capital programs
  • Prepare regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to team members, MLT leadership, and others
  • Lead data collection efforts and identify and implement processes to ensure data integrity and data quality across all workstreams
  • Create and maintain a data calendar, and codify all data processes to ensure timely, replicable, and strategic analyses
  • Enhance and maintain data collection processes to optimize data quality and improve ability to analyze data
  • Audit information across multiple platforms and systems to ensure data is collected and updated appropriately
  • Identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets 
  • Build and maintain dashboards for ongoing projects and manage tracking of key metrics
  • Build and maintain reporting systems that allow for trends to be easily identified and track progress towards goals 
  • In collaboration with team members, create reports and presentation deliverables for data analysis, visualization, and reporting of project- or client-specific information
  • Conduct research and present findings to support project design decisions and drive recommendations

Experience, Skills, and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • 3 - 6 years experience within a research, data analytics and data quality role, preferably with a focus on human capital, people analytics, talent or recruiting
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical mindset
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure high level of data integrity
  • Experience with data collection efforts involving replicating data from other databases, multiple sources of data and incomplete information 
  • Ability to identify and optimize inefficiencies or issues with data collection processes
  • A combination of writing and analytical skills, and the ability to clearly describe an insight and support that with data
  • Experienced with a variety of databases including Salesforce CRM and ability to manage data across multiple platforms
  • Experience or familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience partnering and liaising with other internal and third party technology, IT, and data teams 
  • Able to effectively partner with a variety stakeholders and serve as an intermediary when communicating between technical and non-technical teammates
  • Naturally inquisitive, strong research capability and project / stakeholder management
  • Passion for developing diverse talent and changing how institutions approach DEI, and ideally will have experience with, and insight into, the communities MLT serves
