Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your GIS skills in an innovative and supportive environment?Do you want to learn how to build and manage a GIS project from inception to deployment while gaining valuable experience using Esri's ArcGIS ecosystem?
As a GIS seasonal working within our team, you'll work to create custom GIS applications that solve real-world problems. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills in cartography, project management, app development, and programming all within an enterprise environment.
WORK SCHEDULE:Duration: Fall/Winter 2024 to Spring 2025Schedule: FLEXIBLE, M-F daytime hoursWork Hours: 20-40 hours per week. We offer flexibility around college class schedules.May work up to 40 hours per week for up to 6 months, as operations allow.Duties/Responsibilities
Create web maps and mapping applicationsCreate and manage Enterprise GIS datasetsAssist with building and maintaining GIS asset management systemsWork within the GIS team on a variety of GIS tasks, such as mapping requestsAssist utility and GIS staff with geographical information systems (GIS) mappingAssist with field data collection using high accuracy GPSQualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications:
A commitment to and belief in the organization's shared values.At least one year of experience with desktop GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)Knowledge of public utilities and natural resources functions.Valid driver's license
Desirable Job Qualifications:
Minimum of one year completed in an accredited college/university/technical GIS, Civil Engineering or Engineering Tech program.Experience in some aspects of GIS and GPS mapping.Experience with construction or construction observation.Experience with sanitary sewer, water or storm sewer utility systems.Excellent technical skills.Excellent written communication skills.Customer service experience.
