The Impact You Will Have

The primary role of the Senior Analyst is to support production members of the Walker & Dunlop Affordable Investment Sales team with financial modeling of multifamily assets along with producing institutional quality marketing materials and maintaining detailed market analysis. Candidates with a strong analytical ability, high attention to detail, and an interest to hone quantitative skills will Excel in this position.

Primary ResponsibilitiesFinancial analysis of affordable housing (e.g. LIHTC & Section 8) opportunities, including existing, value add, and resyndication developments using proprietary WDAIS underwriting modelModel including assessing LIHTC eligibility, calculate Section 8 rents, and evaluate project financing structures.Produce rent and sale comparable reports using market data for BOVs, OMs and client researchStay current on federal, state, and local affordable housing policies and regulations, and advise on their impact on project development.Actively assist in the research, writing, and proofing of W&D Affordable Investment Sales marketing offering memorandums (OMs) and Broker Opinion of Values (BOVs) Research and maintain databases which track Investment Sales activity, construction pipeline, and other relevant real estate metricsDevelop and maintain market knowledge through regular reading of industry trade journals, economic forecasts, and news-related periodicalsAssist in the creation and editing of "state of the market" presentations given at national conferences and in private client meetingsConduct transaction coordination and due diligence coordination for the Investment Sales teamMaintain files to ensure all mandatory disclosures are completed and sent to the appropriate parties for review and approvalContact interested parties to remind them of missing documentsProvide a consistent, quality-controlled system to ensure the smooth and efficient management of all relevant steps necessary to close a dealMonitor and assess the progress of sales so that important deadlines are met and contingencies are releasedProvide preliminary audits of files for management review.Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.Attendance is generally 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely.Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (Finance and/or Real Estate concentration preferred)4+ years of experience in affordable housing finance, brokerage, development, acquisitions or related field.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Three to five years of experience with LIHTC modeling required.Experience with affordable housing funding sources, including low-income housing tax credits, HOME, FHLB, and HUD, required.Understanding and experience with property tax abatements & exemptionsMust understand and ability to review real estate documents (loan documents, appraisals, comp reports, operating financials and performance).Client relationship management skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to accurately and productively handle multiple tasks during time sensitive situationsAbility and willingness to work extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines when appropriateExcellent financial modeling skills including thorough knowledge of ExcelProficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Word, and ability to learn Salesforce and other company software as neededAdvanced written and oral communication skillsAbility to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processesCourtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholdersEmbodiment of the Walker Way in approach to work: caring, collaborative, tenacious, driven and insightfulThis position has an estimated salary range of $75,000-$80,000.
