SWIB's intern program offers an opportunity for you to put your skills to use while at the same time to learn new skills in a professional environment. Our internship program is designed to provide meaningful work through hands-on, authentic, professional experiences.

About the Team

The Business Integration Team at SWIB is responsible for connecting people, process, and technology across SWIB's organizational structure to reduce risk, optimize operations, and enable strategic objectives. In support of this goal, the team manages various cross-functional processes that support knowledge management, business change management, and enterprise architecture.

Essential activities:

This internship role within the Business Integration Team will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to learn about the increasing importance of having a thoughtful and well-organized approach to managing the Agency's knowledge and documentation as a critical enabler to the accuracy and effectiveness of Generative AI tools.

In this role, the individual will work with Business Integration peers to identify gaps within existing documentation and work with document owners across operations and technology to achieve conformance to defined standards. The role will also contribute meaningfully to a project that will design and develop a proof-of-concept chatbot (using Natural Language Processing and GenerativeAI) for the Technology Group that leverages trusted knowledge artifacts to accelerate knowledge development, reduce time to resolution within issues and incidents, and to improve overall service quality.

The Ideal candidate:

Ability to work in Madison, WI for an approximate 10-12 weeks beginning late May/early June 2025.Ideal areas of study include Information Science, Library Science, Data Science, Knowledge Management, or related fields of study.Technical Skills:

Documentation Management:

Proficiency in organizing, categorizing, and managing large volumes of documentation.Data Analysis:

Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies within existing documentation.Technical Writing:

Strong writing skills to create clear, concise, and informative documentation.Natural Language Processing (NLP):

Basic understanding of NLP concepts and how they apply to chatbot development.Generative AI:

Familiarity with generative AI models and their potential applications.Other Skills:
