Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Our client, a growing manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant.

Responsibilities:

1. Developing and implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Preparing detailed reports, both periodic and ad-hoc, to compare budget costs to actual costs.
3. Analyzing production costs and recommending changes.
4. Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, and strategic plans.
5. Working closely with the operations team to understand and report on cost drivers.
6. Conducting inventory analysis and reporting findings to management.
7. Ensuring that the accounting department's financial reporting is in line with the company's strategic initiatives.
8. Reviewing and reconciling inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
9. Identifying and implementing improvements to the cost accounting process.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (such as a CPA or CMA) is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Extensive experience with inventory analysis and management.
4. Strong analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
7. Experience with financial software systems.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines consistently.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
10. A proactive approach to work, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
