Job Summary:The Faculty Physician provides quality medical care to patients in a clinical setting. The Faculty Physician also assists management in developing policies and procedures relating to patient needs.
Job Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide quality treatment to all patients in a professional mannerParticipate in the teaching/training program(s)Communicate with administrators, and Physicians to facilitate practice operationsParticipate in team effort to guarantee efficient services to patientsConforms to the ethical code of conduct of his/her professional organization, to the Wayne Health Corporate Compliance Program and all standards of the Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and to clinic policies and proceduresMaintains a current professional license, professional liability insurance at limits required by Wayne Health Credentialing as applicableAttend meetings and training as requested including participation in mandatory annual Wayne Health training in such areas as: recipient rights, confidentiality, corporate compliance, prevention of violence and management of unsafe behaviors, and cultural competenceParticipates in professional development activities and keeps current with healthcare trends and practicesObeys confidentiality as required by all federal, state, regulatory and Wayne Health policiesPerform related duties as assignedAdditional Chief Duties:
The Division Chief is responsible for the academic, clinical, educational and administrative activities and initiatives of the division. The duties include but not limited to the following:
Oversee all inpatient general medicine services including teaching services, hospitalist service, and consultative services at DMC, KCI, DaVita and other institutions as applicable.Ensure appropriate coverage and staffing for all servicesMonitor and develop processes and projects to improve quality of care and work collaboratively with department, Wayne Health, University and hospital leadership to promote quality of care, patient, physician and trainee's satisfaction and compliance with regulatory organization.Develop opportunities for all round growth and progress of the division in patient services, teaching and research activities.Develop a clinical research operation, aligned with community needs, departmental goals and the mission of the SOM.Champion recruitment, promotion and development of faculty though training, mentorship, collaboration and synergistic use of divisional, UPG and University resources leading to a deserving regional and national research and clinical reputationLead oversight of all financial issues in the division through alignment with leaders in the department, UPG and SOM to achieve budgetary goals and financial sustainability and growth of the divisionEducation, Licensure/Certification, and Training:
Licensed M.D. or D.O. Board eligibleSkills and Abilities:
High level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal, necessary to effectively communicate, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the Department and/or PracticeExcellent analytical ability necessary to independently identify and resolve extremely complex and unusual problems or discrepanciesClinical knowledge to meet the medical requirements relating to various proceduresAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel and/or financial dataExcellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and manage timePatient management skills necessary to provide quality careSafety Requirements:
Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and proceduresWorking Conditions/Schedule:
Hours and days to be determined by the business need of the department. Additional hours may be required
