The Georgia Department of Community Health, Financial Management Division, is seeking a qualified

Financial Analyst II

responsible for performing professional accounting duties associated with analyzing, reconciling, and recording financial data. Under general supervision, performs professional level finance, accounting and fiscal control functions. Performs and/or oversees financial planning, documentation, analysis, reporting and system development. The focus will be on working with Center of Medicaid and Medicare Services.

This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of your supervisor. Your days of frequency in the office can change at any time during your employment based on the business needs of the organization.Job Responsibilities

Accurately record and reconcile various revenue deposits.Analyzes and validates recorded transactions promptly to maintain financial integrity.Conducts thorough research on various transactions as needed.Monitors daily bank account activity, identifying and resolving discrepancies.Ensures all deposits are recorded within three business days.Timely process adjusting transactions to reflect accurate financial positions.Prepares monthly CMP wire transfers with attention to detail.Maintains comprehensive spreadsheets to track and report financial activity.Collaborates with team members to complete additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job related experience in accounting, billing, and collection systems or claims; or Two (2) years of professional job related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims; or One (1) year of experience at the lower level Financial Analyst 1 (FIP060) or equivalent position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:

Knowledge of Medicaid or any governmental payor.A thorough working knowledge of Excel with VLOOKUP experienceShould have excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.Experience in research, including gathering, interpreting, and summarizing data
