Target Start Date: asapShift: Night shift hours 7PM-7:30AM/ 36 hours per/wkCall Requirements: no standing on call requirement. Rarely may be placed on call or floated if low patient volume.Weekends: every other weekend. if an agency nurse calls in absent on their scheduled weekend to work, the missed weekend will need to be worked the next weekend to fulfill the requirement. Holiday rotation through out the year.General InformationTell us about the unit(s):Number of Beds 37 beds including a 10 bed section for acuity adaptable patients including chronic trach/ventilator care, dialysis, other elevated acuity patients.Number of StaffType of staff:o Day Shift 1 charge/12-13 RN/3-4 patient care associate (PCA) and a HUC. Staffing may vary based on the acuity level of the patients. this will include staffing assignments of 1:3, 1:4, (and 1:2 as needed for some ICU level patients in MPCU.o Night Shift 1 charge/12-13 RN/3-4 PCA and a HUC. Staffing may vary to patient acuity levels. This will include staffing assignments of 1:3, 1:4 (and 1:2 as needed for some ICU level patients in MPCU.Patient Ratios 1:3 RN patient ratio based on acuity. may have one assignment of 1:2 (for ICU level patients) or may have an assignment of 1:4 if patient acuity is low.Type of equipment Ventilators, bipap, cpap, high-flow and salter canula O2 delivery devices. All patients are on wall mounted Phillips cardiac monitors. End tidal CO2 monitors maybe be used for specific patient requirements. Alaris IV pumps, vocera communication devices are used. Virtual sitter and Marti language devices are utilized.EMR EPIC documentation system.Frequently used medicated IV drips in MPCU (include but are not limited to) Insulin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Cardene, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine.Typical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)

: candidates with these skills will be considered first.Best personality fit for MPCU (Acute Intermediate Care Unit and Step-down) includes the ability to care for chronic trach/vent dependent patients, neuro-surgical patients, non-complicated back surgeries, VP shunts, and stable subdural hematoma patients. Other patient populations include post-thyroidectomy, continuous Insulin gtts for DKA, respiratory conditions, (including COVID), vasoactive drips, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal and behavioral/substance abuse patients. Renal dialysis patients, emergent situations requiring assisting with intubations of unstable patients (which will move to a higher level of care. Other unit procedures include chest tube placement, IV insertion, blood transfusions, and bedside bronchoscopy.List typical procedures performed on unit(s):Central line placementChest tube placementbronchoscopyBest personality Fit:MPCU is a team oriented unit with a healthy work environment.Dress Code
