UW Medical Center-Northwest - Critical Care Float Pool (STAT Team) has an outstanding opportunity for a Mid Shift Float Nurse to join our team.
WORK SCHEDULE
18 hours per week / 45% FTE
Mid shifts (10:00am - 10:30pm)
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our STAT Team (the Critical Care Float Pool) is made up of highly-skilled Registered Nurses who are trained to respond when urgent and emergent situations arise at the hospital. STAT Nurses care for patients with complex health problems on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and provide consultative resources to other units throughout the hospital. This is a great opportunity to provide advanced bedside care in a role where no two shifts are alike.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports all Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke, and Code Grey events in the Medical Center
Regularly floats to the ICU, taking on patient assignments and providing expert critical care
Supports critically ill patients while they are transported to the ICU
Provides critical care monitoring while patients undergo complex procedures
Triages urgent issues throughout the hospital
Takes action on a wide range of complex patient care issues that require high-level critical thinking and analysis
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
5 years of nursing work experience, with the majority being in critical care
ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
CCRN or CEN
