WSP is looking for a
Senior Vice President Transportation Director/Local Business Lead (LBL)
for our
Los Angeles office , based in Downtown Los Angeles. The candidate will play a key strategic leadership role in the
California Region
as we continue to strengthen and expand our Transportation practice. WSP is playing a critical role in the growth and development throughout the robust market in the state of California, specifically with key public agencies such as Caltrans, Metrolink/SCCRA, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles, and other major municipal agencies in Los Angeles County. The LBL role is a leader in leveraging cross collaboration with other WSP business lines such as Property and Buildings (P&B), Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and PMCM to bring value to our clients.
The Local Area Business Leader is a recognized leader and face of WSP in Transportation. They are the local CEO of WSP within the bounds of our Delegation of Authority promoting collaboration and teamwork with a drive to grow our team. The Local Area Business Leader drives operational performance and growth while enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees, and partners. They passionately lead their business service delivery in their local area through WSP’s strategy focused on four pillars of success: Clients, Expertise, People & Culture and Operational Excellence.

Drives performance of the transportation business and strategically grows our market share to fulfill our goal that WSP become the preferred, trusted advisor to our clients.
Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit Management.
Integrates as the “face of the company” locally and across Los Angeles County, attending civic and industry events, conferences, and forums ranging from ACEC, WTS, Chamber of Commerce, and many more.
Brings an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end markets.
Utilizes our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) across regions, districts, offices and the globe to foster new and innovative client delivery.
People & Culture
Works with Business Line Leaders to attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking – crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thrive.
Emphasizes employee training and development to create a unique work experience.

Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP’s client base, or on projects.
Collaborates with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles.
Expertise
Leverages our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings.
Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.
Advances the strategic direction of the district and region in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan.
Encourages, supports and promotes the technical and professional development of local WSP staff.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years of experience with a college degree or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Business, or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence, and growth.
Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.
Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes.
Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice.
Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area.
Commitment to internal and external client service.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $203,400 - $341,110
