Job Description The Machine Shop Technician will play a key role in the production of high-quality automotive vehicles by performing a variety of technical tasks, including machining, fabricating, repairing, and assembling automotive parts and components. The individual will work closely with the production team to ensure precision and efficiency in the manufacturing of classic vehicles. This role demands attention to detail and a passion for the automotive industry. Reports To Engineering Manager Duties and Responsibilities Operate and maintain various types of machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machinery, to fabricate and repair automotive components. Perform precision machining tasks to produce custom and OEM automotive parts to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate reproduction or modification of components. Work closely with the team to assess and address mechanical, structural, or aesthetic issues with vehicles. Ensure the proper assembly and packaging of product, adhering to safety and quality standards. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality control standards. Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot mechanical issues and suggest improvements in processes. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to shop safety protocols. Required Skills and Abilities Willing to learn the operation of CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.). Must be able to follow assembly instructions to build automotive products. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing software is a plus. Familiarity with 3d resin printing is a plus Production focused and ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth environment. Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work overtime as needed. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in machining, automotive repair, or a related field is a plus. Experience working in a machine shop or automotive restoration environment, with strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials is a plus Physical Demands (to include but not limited to) Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, office equipment, CNC machines, printers, telephone, etc. Sit at a desk or stand on concrete for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, and place items up to 50 pounds without assistance. Occasional reaching overhead and below knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting. Ability to work long hours in hot or cold temperatures. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment with various tools and equipment.
