Job Summary

The Senior Desktop Engineer plays a critical role in leading the desktop engineering team and defining the strategic direction of TriWest's desktop infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the implementation of desktop standards, managing complex technical projects, and providing mentorship to junior engineers. The Senior Desktop Engineer also serves as a liaison to internal departments and external vendors, ensuring the alignment of desktop services with business objectives.

Education & Experience

Required:

•5+ years of experience in desktop engineering or related roles•5+ years customer support related roles•Extensive experience with desktop / end user technology management frameworks•Significant experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex virtual desktop / DaaS solutions in the enterprise environment•Working knowledge of security hardening techniques and compliance frameworks•Experience with enterprise collaboration platforms and endpoint management tools•Experience in technical leadership and mentorship to desktop engineers and support technicians•Working knowledge of patching and image management technologies significant experience with at least one of the following: SCCM, Patch My PC and inTune•Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management solutions including inTune or MaaS360•Understanding of thin client/zero client deployments, centralized management capabilities and Virtual desktop integrations•Experience managing technology and delivering solutions in an ITIL based service management environment•Proficient with Active Directory, GPOs, SSO and MFA technologies and strong understanding of the relationship between these technologies and enterprise desktop / end user technology strategy

Preferred:

•Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience•Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent experience•Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent experience•Project management skills and ability to drive strategic initiatives•Knowledge or certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or equivalent experience•5+ years' experience working in an enterprise support environment•Advanced knowledge of common operating systems (Win, macOS, iOS, Android)•O365 management experience•Experience implementing security and hardening standards per NIST, CIS,STIG or other similar standards•Familiarity supporting one or more collaboration platforms - Teams, WebEx, Zoom•Experience with network printing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPN solutions, remote patching and endpoint management

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain technical ownership over processes, standards, performance and stability of all desktop / end-user technology solutions.•Provide technical leadership for the desktop engineering team; defining and implementing desktop standards and best practices.•Drive strategic initiatives to improve desktop infrastructure and user experience.•Collaborate with internal departments to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.•Serve as a subject matter expert on desktop technologies and industry trends.•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior engineers.•Technical leadership of major desktop infrastructure projects, including upgrades and migrations.•Establish and maintain positive relationships with external vendors for hardware and software procurement and support.•Establish and maintain positive relationships with peer technology organizations, and business leaders within TriWest.•Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.•Participate in incident and problem management processes, including root cause analysis.•Assist in change management efforts to proactively prevent change related issues.•Contribute to standards definition for software, technology infrastructure, and related processes and procedures.•Contribute to project planning and tracking for related projects.•Cellular services management. Ensure TriWest cellular devices are updated to meet security requirements, manage deployments and training to end users.•Perform other duties as assigned.•Regular and reliable attendance is required.

*Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Washington State residents: $86,000 - $110,000 depending on experience*
