Job Description:
To inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and quality of finish.
Receives schedule of parts to be inspected, obtain prints, specifications and route cards.Uses cranes, hoists or manually moves material to work station.Checks prints to determine required tolerances. Uses various gauges to check dimensional accuracy and visually inspects for surface finish.Follows standard procedure, records inspection results daily, showing rejections, scrap, rework and items held for final disposition of rejected parts. Maintains record of inspected parts.Cleans and replaces gauges and measuring instruments in their proper storage area.Sets up and operates equipment to check out monel and stainless steel to determine type.Sets up dye penetrants on parts per Federal Government specifications.Final check of parts in packing room for burrs and defects.Requirements
Ability to interpret drawingsUse precision measuring tools to check dimensional accuracy of machined parts.Attention to detail when inspecting close tolerances.Ability to plan work from blueprints when inspecting parts to determine cause of rejection.Working Hours:
2nd shift - 3:30pm to 12:00am
3rd shift - 10:30pm to 7:00am
