Description Our IT Department is growing with an additional Programmer. The Programmer / DBA develops & debugs application programs, executes system and integration tests, and supports production applications. What you'll do: Design and write program specification and covert to computer code Compile code to programs and correct detected errors Create, test, and confirm test environments for end-users Consult with various employees including teammates and end users Ensure interface with other systems Perform ongoing tuning of database instances. Provide proactive and reactive data management support. Ensure all database servers are backed up and meet Recovery Point Objectives. Install, configure, and troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards. Review and deploy developer written database upgrade scripts. Apply patches and version upgrades when required. Implement encryption (TDE) where appropriate. Enforce corporate and departmental standards. What you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another related field 3-5 years of programming experience, which could include performance tuning, query optimization, programming language such as .NET, and banded report writers Ability to solve practical problems where limited standardization exists Knowledge of Microsoft programs and programming languages including but not limited to Visual Basic and SQL 2 years of SQL Server database administration experience. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and T-SQL. Understanding of database design principles. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Experience with High Availability/Disaster Recovery technologies such as AlwaysOn, clustering and mirroring. Previous implementation a plus. Experience with replication and database encryption a plus. Cloud-based DBMS (AWS, Azure) experience a plus.
