Certification Details ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred, not required for ER placements. BLS - Basic Life Support. AHA Healthcare Provider only. PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required for specific positions. NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure for Respiratory Therapy and NICU. CHEMO - Chemotherapy certification required for Hemotology/Oncology. TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course preferred for ER and Peds ER. Tech Cert Verification required for specific technical staff. Job Details Registered Nurse specialty position available at Rady Childrens Hospital San Diego. DON’T SUBMIT IF TRAVELER DOES NOT HAVE PEDS EXPERIENCE. Okay to submit if not within a dedicated Children's facility. RN MUST HAVE CA LICENSE IN HAND OR PENDING WITH ETAs of when it will post Traveler must be willing to get flu shot when requested Traveler could be floated to every unit except OR, PACU, and ED. Units include PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, medical behavioral unit, and on rare occasions, floated to Bernardy Center. CVICU: Video link available upon request. Unit Summary: 30-37 beds. Specializes in post-op cardiac surgical care, cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantation, VAD’s and ECMO. Patients can range from neonatal up to 23 years old. Job Requirements CA License 2 years of CVPICU/CTICU experience leading up to assignment PEDS Cardiac exp - MUST be cardiac trained Heart transplant experience Willing to float between units BLS PALS Experience in ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation Schedule Information Shifts are 3x12 variable or straight night shifts, 36x48 available Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Night shift combinations of Fri/Sat nights and for day shift Sat/Sun. 13 week contracts Required to work 2 out of 3 holidays (contract can't end before New Years) Self-scheduling available Ratio is 1:1-2 Requested Time Off: 6 days total (must still work 3 shifts in week) Unit Specific Information 30-37 bed unit with post op cardiac surgical care, cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantations, VAD’s, and ECMO.
