We're looking for an experienced Optical Technician to join our team in Seminole!This is a full-time position - Monday through Friday (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) - NO WEEKENDS!We offer competitive pay with an opportunity to earn a monthly bonus!Opti-mart is part of Sight360's growing premier destination for comprehensive vision care. We are a team of over 130 optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, opticians, and eye care professionals serving more than 100,000 patients across 15 different locations in the Greater Tampa Bay and SW Florida area. From routine eye exams and optical retail, to medical optometry, ophthalmology, and surgical procedures, our patients experience end-to-end personalized care and service.Candidates may be subject to an in-person skills assessmentCompensation commensurate with experience - will pay a higher base rate for COA certification. Current COA certification must be presented.The Optical Technician is responsible for collecting and recording ocular and systemic patient histories, visual acuities, BP, IOP, Auto refractions, Manifest Refractions, performing external examinations, and dry-eye testing, as well as disease specific extra testing.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Collecting and recording patient medical historyInstructing patients on post-operative care, medication use, contact lens care and exam expectations.Performing visual acuity testing, auto and Manifest Refractions (measurements for the glasses prescription), tonometry (measuring eye pressure)Measuring pupil size and reactivityPerforming confrontational visual field testing, pachymetry (Corneal thickness measurement)Performing dry eye testingParticipating in light cleaning of the facilityMaintaining a sanitized environmentPerforming corneal topography, retinal nerve fiber layer measurements, retinal thickness and topography, fluorescein angiography, B-scan ultrasonographyAssisting with contact lens fitting and instructing patients on insertion and removal of contacts.Preparing for and assisting with in-office procedures including consenting patientsQualifications:Minimum of one year assisting in an Optical practice or as an Optometrist AssistantOphthalmic experience a plusSkills and Abilities:Superior interpersonal and communications skills.Ability to effectively multi-taskAttentive to detail and accuracy.Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision401k and matchPaid Time Off8 Paid HolidaysCOA sponsorship and expense reimbursementAnnual Scrub Reimbursement (up to $100)Compensation details:
