Job Description Summary:Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.

The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.

Job Description:

Job Duties Outlined:Full-time clinical practice in the orthopedic surgery sub-specialty area of Musculoskeletal Oncology.Active participation in the advancement and education of medical students and orthopedic surgery residents.Equitable participation in the general orthopedic call schedule.Active participation in the Musculoskeletal Oncology sub-division and Cancer Center committees and initiatives.Participation in orthopedic departmental and faculty meetings or other assigned committees or initiatives as assigned by the Chair, important to either Orthopedic Surgery, the service line, or sub-specialty area of training.Required Qualifications

Education/Certification :

Board Certified or Board Eligible MD or DO from an accredited University.Orthopedic Surgery Residency completion from an ACGME accredited training program.Fellowship training in the sub-specialty area of Musculoskeletal Oncology.Work Experience :

Fellowship training or practice in the area of Musculoskeletal Oncology.Experience or training with Adult and Pediatric patient populationsPreferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has areas of interest in both adult and pediatric populations, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, metastatic disease, and complex joint reconstructions in tumor patients. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in a comprehensive, collaborative team which includes dedicated orthopedic oncology, surgical oncology, plastic surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, bone and soft tissue pathology, musculoskeletal radiology, microvascular surgery, and hand surgery.Required Documents:
