DescriptionFunction:Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Development Specialist supports the design, development and maintenance for all of Fenway Health's online properties to help advance our mission of caring and advocating for LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, people living with HIV, and other underserved communities. Our online properties include Fenway's Award-winning website, fenwayhealth.org, as well as a variety of fundraising and programmatic sites. The Web Development Specialist works in close coordination with members of the Communications team and other Fenway staff to support the work of its various departments and divisions.Representative Duties:Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain web-based solutions (including websites and email communications) that support Fenway's mission-oriented goals and marketing, fundraising, and communications effortsMaintain a working knowledge of WordPress, design & development software, web applications, and components, and web hosting management toolsWork to optimize the user experienceHelp ensure ADA compliance and screen reader compatibility of online propertiesSupport search engine optimization and Google Analytics analysis and reportingProvide internal technical support for web-based solutions, including websites, applications, email communicationsEnsure consistency and adherence to Fenway Health brand guidelines across all platformsMeet Agency Participatory ExpectationsSuggest and participate in continuing quality improvement effortsAdhere to all agency and departmental policies and proceduresParticipate in quality assessment and improvement activities as requestedAdhere to the highest principles of patient and client confidentialityAdhere to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identify potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and take measures to rectify the situationAttend all required meetings, in-services and professional trainingsAttend all regularly scheduled department meetings, trainings, forums and pertinent Fenway Health staff meetingsMaintain professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintain and provides agency with records of continuing education activitiesServe on agency committees and in professional organizations when requestedPerform other related duties as requiredRequirementsMinimum of 4 years of professional web management experienceDemonstrated front-end web development skills & ability to code HTML5, CSS3, PHP, jQuery & JavaScript, and ability to integrate APIs within these systemsBasic understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutionsExperience working with a mobile-first/responsive design approachFamiliarity with online ADA compliance and screen reader compatibilityExperience with Google analytics and SEOFamiliarity or willingness to learn the Engaging Networks CRM a plus.Excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects & deadlines, problem solve, and to be solution-orientedAbility to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues, patients, clients and vendors across the spectrum of diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, national origin and immigrant status, religious or spiritual identity, disability (physical, mental, emotional and developmental), veteran status, and/or limited English proficiency.Willingness to contribute towards Fenway's efforts in becoming an anti-racist organization and promoting a culture dedicated to ongoing development in service of humility, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, where differences are acknowledged and valued.PREFFERED REQUIREMENTSMinimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent life experience preferredExperience working with WordPress; - Familiarity with Elementor, ACF and Crocoblock is preferred.Familiarity with Adobe applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator or other design software, like Canva, is preferred.This is a union position in a Fenway Health bargaining unit represented by 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East.
