The Accountant will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP or other applicable standards.Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process vendor invoices and payments, reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings (such as 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990 for nonprofits). Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax documents.Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.Expense Management: Review and process expense reports to ensure adherence to company policies and accurate coding of transactions.Fixed Assets Management: Track and record depreciation of company assets and maintain fixed asset schedules.Month-End/Year-End Close: Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and industry regulations.Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives, such as system implementations, process improvements, or financial analysis, as assigned.Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, EA certification preferred but not required).Experience : 2-5 years of accounting experienceTechnical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with team members and external clients.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with tax preparation and filing (personal and corporate returns).Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and preparation of Form 990.Experience working with audits and government compliance reporting.
