Overview:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating month-end close, reconciling G/L accounts, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, tax, and other related accounting and tax matters. Supervise and delegate work to staff accountant(s). Assist in preparing financial statements, royalty, profitability, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities:Manage month-end close and maintain G/L accountsPrepare monthly financial statements and analysis for leadership teamBe a primary manager of Quickbooks or new ERP systemRecording and Categorizing Expenses: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all expenses and categorizing them appropriately.Maintain accounting policies and procedures and update as neededPerform month-end ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in ledger accountsManage monthly expense accrual calculations primarily relating to accruals for goods and services received but not invoicedProcess operational transactions with a high level of accuracy - including but not limited to bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and leasesPrepare corporation income tax schedules annuallySupport improvements in our accounting dept. such as accounting controls, audit trails and efficiency of recurring processesPerform various ad hoc projects as requestedQualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalentAt least 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in accountingUnderstanding of accounting principlesProficient in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft ExcelExperience in QuickBooks or other major accounting system (e.g. NetSuite, Intacct)Team player with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insightsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and conciselyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectivelyMeticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve financial issues promptlyGood follow up skills, detail oriented, and well organized.Audit experience desirableWhat's in it for you?
