An employer in the Midland, TX area is looking for an Automation Analyst to help with a major Alarm Objective Analysis project. This person will Provide knowledge and expertise in control systems hardware, supervisory control and data acquisition and process instrumentation including design, programming, troubleshooting and system optimization. This position reports to the FE I&E Services Supervisor and works as part of a team responsible for designing and improving process control systems to enable safe and reliable production operations. Day to day support entails troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs and network devices as well as transmitters valves and 3rd party equipment packages.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years' experience with programming PLCs through interpreting Control Philosophies, Cause and Effect Charts, and P&IDs.

Competent in configuring and troubleshooting SCADA systems, data polling circuits, instrument loops and well RTUs.

PLC Programming knowledge in GE (candidate will be interfacing with GE 80% of the time)

Experience with O&G production equipment including tanks, separators, pumps, compressors, meters, and wells.

Experience operating and maintaining I&E end devices including meters, instruments, control valves, radios, RTUs and PLCs.

proficiency with Microsoft Windows is required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

familiarity with Emerson RX3i PAC Systems, AVEVA System Platform, MS Visual Studio and SQL.

experience with SQL and ticketing software (ServiceNow, EAM)
