We are seeking a Medication Technician to administer medication and maintain medication records. As a Med Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining the med room and medication stock, administering medication according to physician orders, following all Quail Park medication policies, and auditing medication administration records. Administer medication appropriately and timely according to regulations, physician orders and the community’s Policies and ProceduresEnsure that medication is logged and centrally stored, maintained as needed, and all medication refills are ordered in a timely manner to ensure medications are available for each residentIs familiar with and consistently adheres to all medication-related policies and procedures, including those concerning appropriate documentation and medication accountabilityConducts monthly audits, which include label checks, expiration checks, and start date checksNotifies supervisor of concerns or problems with orders/MARs in a timely mannerAssists Licensed Nurse printing MARs and reviews as requestedUpdates MARs in computer with new orders/changes in the absence of the Licensed NurseWorks with pharmacies and doctors’ offices to obtain correct orders and refillsCarries out objective charting within their scope of practice in residents notes on a daily basisCarries out basic first aid on a daily basisMaintains a clean and tidy medication roomResident Care

Reviews and understands all resident individual service plansAssists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and

ambulation, as specified in residents’ individual service plansEngages residents in meaningful conversation and socialization while providing

medication supervision assistance and personal care assistanceObserves residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental and social condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse and/or supervisorCommunicates with Resident Care Team about changes with residents , contacts families as neededCompletes all forms to include but not limited to incident reports, and written and computerized documentation, as necessary for communication of resident information with other shifts and with the licensed nurses, Executive Director/Administrator and other members of the Resident Care TeamAssists with resident meal times in dining room, serves meals in accordance with proper serving technique and ensures that food is presented in an attractive manner as neededEncourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and assists with those activities as neededPost Mortem care carried out by a Med Tech” for a resident who passes away in the community under hospiceActs as a role model to team members to ensure quality care and monitoring of residentsAssists with other housekeeping duties as assigned$22.30-$24.37 / Hour
