MDA SATCOM/Communications Network Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval.

Purpose:Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for anMDA SATCOM/Communications Network Engineer in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will get to support the Missile Defense Agency's Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Networks organization (BCN). The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a detailed understanding of telecommunication systems.Job Description:

Provide engineering, technical, and project management expertise to BCN to develop and deploy robust, end-to-end, high availability, test and operational communication networks for the sharing of information across all MDS assets.Perform systems engineering and integration to include Military SATCOM Architecture studies and long haul communications engineering and analysis to include: site selections, site surveys, strategic capability development, site planning, providing on-site construction support, site implementation leadership, communications equipment selection, staging, installation, integration and testing management.Provide technical analysis of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) provided designs.Assist the government with overseeing the Prime Contractor on development of the BCN.Develop facility requirements and participate in facility design reviews.Coordinate the installation of facility requirements.Facilitate working groups and technical interchange meetings.Integrate communication system components into a larger system.Draft/brief information/decision papers/briefings and staff coordination packages for senior leadership.Perform assessments of detailed network test data.Qualifications

Must have Master's degree in STEM and 12+ years of systems engineering related experience.Experience with radio frequency (RF) and waveform communications system design.Experience with DoD terrestrial and satellite communication systems (MILSATCOM).Understanding of telecommunication systems test data.Understanding of the requirements review and design review process.Understanding of how requirements are flowed down from system specifications to elements specification.Must be able to work independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems.Must have the capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.Must be proficient in Microsoft tools , e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word.Must be a pro-active, self-starter.Desired Qualifications

Active Top Secret clearance.Tactical data links (TDL J, Link 11, Link 16) systems, encryption systems, precision timing systems, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) desired.Experience with Missile Defense Agency and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) services.Experience with large-scale construction projects a plusStrong communication skills to include oral, written and briefing, preferred.Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferred.Ability to present complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels, preferred.Security Requirements:

Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.Travel Requirements:

Up to 25%If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
