Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit - ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: NC or Compact license Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience- Telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias- IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management- Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, CVA- Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, external CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula- Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions- Experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation Job Description: - The unit functions like an ICU; strong experience with drips is necessary.- The target nurse-to-patient ratios range from 3:1 to 4:1.- Must work weekends on an every-other-weekend basis.- Must be open to floating as needed to a sister unit, which is an ICCU.- Handling a variety of patient diagnoses, including post-operative care and respiratory issues.- Administer and manage one pressor drip per patient; patients requiring more will be transferred to ICU.- Familiarity with special equipment such as bedside telemetry monitors and management of A-lines, CPAPs, and chest tubes.- Use of hospital systems including Pyxis and Epic for documentation and medication administration.- Must adhere to specific fatigue policies to ensure safety and compliance.
