Seeking a full-time

Commercial Tire TechnicianLocally owned and operated, Zolman Tire, Inc. has serviced the automotive, light truck and commercial repair, tire, and wheel needs of customers throughout the Mishawaka, IN area since 1978. Over the years we have expanded into eight retail locations in Mishawaka, IN, Granger, IN, South Bend, IN, Niles, MI, Portage, MI, and Kalamazoo, MI and four commercial fleet locations in Mishawaka, IN, South Bend, IN, Galesburg, MI, and Benton Harbor, MI.

We are seeking qualified commercial tire technicians for our Galesburg location who value safety and teamwork. Techs will be responsible for removing, installing, rotating, balancing, and performing flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires (in shop or at customer location). Hours requirements are 8a-5p M-F, with willingness to work overtime as needed. Essential Functions :Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires (in shop or at customer location), performed per TIA Commercial guidelinesSafely separate and reassemble tires onto wheels, using specialized equipmentInspect casings for defectsLocate and seal tire punctures (patch and plug)Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding or sandblastingInspect vehicles using inspection forms and report potential repairs to supervisorPerform basic maintenance and repairDrive service truck to customer locations and for road serviceRaise and lower vehicles safely, with hydraulic or floor jacksSafely operate all shop machinery, including but not limited to: safety cage, spreader, balancer, floor jacks or lifts, air powered tools, torque wrench and/or torque sticksOperate and maintain diagnostic equipment Safely operate all service truck machinery, including but not limited to: all shop machinery, boom and hookRead work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasksPerform general housekeeping dutiesPerform other duties as assigned

Experience:1-2 years' experience in passenger or commercial tire repair

Certifications/Licenses:Valid driver's license; driving record must meet company's insurance requirementsAbility to obtain/maintain a DOT physical (for service trucks)TIA Commercial 200 Level (company can provide)Ongoing training is required per company's standards

Computer:Able to operate all diagnostics and alignment equipment
