Security Guard

Position Summary:The Security Guard role oversees and monitors the safety and security of the campus, company security practices, and provides customer service to the company as directed.Major Responsibilities:Monitor safety and security of the campus by:Performing routine patrols of buildings and campus groundsMonitor to deter unauthorized entries of buildingsPerforming patrols to provide protection against fires and/or other dangerous situationsDeterring criminal activity, and respond to other irregular activitiesPerform a customer service function by answering inquiries and providing direction to visitors, contractorsand associates..Exercise control of access to entrance and secure areas by using admitting procedures.Represent Penske in a highly professional manner. Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships withassociates,, clients and vendors.Perform campus administrative duties, which include responding to safety and security concerns and completingsafety inspections, daily/weekly/monthly reporting and safety/security audits.Other duties as assignedQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required1 year of experience in a law enforcement, military, or security role requiredMust be able to respond immediately to all emergency situations and maintain control of the environmentAbility to use post equipment, alarms, logs and other devices requiredMust be able to utilize the surveillance cameras, monitoring systems, and analyze access logsAbility to utilize the Visitor Management System, computers and online tools requiredStrong skills in customer service when dealing with internal and external people requiredExcellent oral and written communication skills requiredMust have strong conflict resolution/problem solving skillsMust act strictly within established procedures and refer questionable matters to a supervisorMust provide a positive and professional imageRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.Physical Requirements:-The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
