We are seeking a candidate to provide leadership at one of our warehousing operations.The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.Position Summary:Distribution Center Supervisors oversee various warehouse operations including collaborating and participating in team building, training new hires, communicating with management on departmental performance, implementing company policies and procedures, working open issues to closure with management input,

and maintaining a standard level of employee performance.Major Responsibilities:PeopleEstablish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and

understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectivesEstablish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurableInterview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hireMonitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associatesMotivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognitionShift

: The hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm . Leadership members are to be present 30 minutes prior to the start of shift and may have to work on off shift as needed. Flexibility required around the peak season, holiday, short staffed, and business needs.Salary: $60,000-$65,000 In this role, Operations Supervisor will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base for Max Performance.OperationsSupervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure controlConduct team meetingsEvaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of warehouse operations. Assist in new associate trainingProvide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shiftHave a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolutionComplete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashionCommunicate with employees regarding company performance, corporate and warehouse activities, employee benefits, special meetings, and other company related informationMonitor employee attendance and develop techniques to improve employee efficiency in the warehouse to ensure accuracy, quality, and quantity of workEnforce and adhere to company rules and regulations in order to lead by example and maintain morale within the warehouseTrain, develop, and motivate hourly employees to be productive, accurate, and efficientMonitor job levels in order to write performance appraisals and communicate with employees regarding performance expectations and their progress in achieving those expectationsAnalyze, interpret, and react to computer reports related to productivity, accuracy, amount of work, and efficiencyAttend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings including providing suggestions and interface with other supervisors in order to summarize weekly activities and upcoming eventsCommunicate effectively within all departmental supervisory levelsMaintain proper safety and security controls within the facilityMaintain a safe and clean work area, assist with general warehouse cleaningMust perform other duties as assigned by SupervisionInspect and verify that all equipment is working properlyHigh energy levelFinanceEnsure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as, inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc.Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitabilityClosely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targetsSafetyEnsure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategyProvide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performanceEnsure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and proceduresConduct safety observationsGrowth/Customer ExperienceUnderstand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations dailyEnsure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectivesDetermine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement effortsFleet/AssetsProperly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of warehouse equipmentWork with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipmentWork with vendors to ensure equipment is maintainedOther projects and tasks as assigned by the managerQualifications:3 - 4 years leadership experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelors Degree preferredPrevious DC supervisory experience with proven innovative and technical capabilitiesStrong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are requiredAdvanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint requiredMust demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgencyMust have ability to connect and build rapport/relationships with associates and external customers at all levelsMust have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skillsAbility to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independentlyAbility to drive process improvement and lead changeExperience with inventory management system preferredRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.Physical Requirements:The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
