Lead Load PlannerLocation: Reading, PA.Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (Onsite in Office)Position Summary:Penske Logistics is looking for a Lead Load Planner to become part of an excellent team.

This position coordinates all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement.Major Responsibilities:Support supervisor on process management activities and customer communicationIndirect team management responsibilities delegated by Supervisor or Account managerShift management responsibilities for a single customer or across customerRequires travelling to be on Penske or customer on-site locationsRun metrics and measures to manage process controlsTrain the team on load planning activities and update SOP periodicallyPlan and optimize shipments into loads using Penskes Transportation Management System-Tender freight requirements to 3rd Party CarriersMaintain Transportation Management systemsRespond to internal and external customer inquiriesAct as first/second level escalation for customer inquiriesWorks with Operations Managers to ensure customer expectations are metOther projects and tasks as assigned by supervisorStay current on the customer's industryQualifications:Bachelors degree strongly preferred (Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics in lieu of industry experience is preferred)Experience in Logistics Services including warehouse, distribution, or supply chain management is preferredGood Organizational Skills, Good with excel, good with customers , solutions based mindset , critical thinkingTransportation Management experience preferredPrevious Load Planning experience preferredCandidate should possess problem solving skills and ability to communicate solutions.Ability to work with team and support team needsAbility to prioritize customer and business needs and drive customer delightExcellent communication, organizational & PC skills (including Microsoft Office products).Attention to detail & accuracyAbility to learn quickly and multi-taskSense of urgency & ability to understand customer requirementsAbility to work First, Second and Third Shift as needed.
