Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to help manage the financial records and ensure the accuracy of the accounting processes.
OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheets, and other key accounts.
- Support the audit process by preparing necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis).
- Knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
